So far, this is the best course on Coursera. Two reasons. The course itself is a tough one. It covers both linear programming and integer programming. Material wise, this is heavy stuff. The second reason, the format and presentation of the course: fantastic. Hentenryck is a dynamic speaker with insights to help learners understand. He is a great teacher. A quick search shows that Pascal Hentenryck had been with Brown University Computer Science for 20 years and then he left for University of Melbourne. An excellent researcher, programmer, group leader and entrepreneur, his website is also very neat.
Polyhedrons, cutting planes, etc., these concepts are very difficult to understand. But here, with proper 3D animation and enough visual aids, everything is explained with clarity.
It is fair to say, the quality of this course is among the best of online courses. If we count from MIT's open course to today, visual and audio quality of online courses have been greatly improved. This era is for motivated learners and researchers to keep up with new ideas and technologies. Internet is great.
